It has been a while!
I want you all to know that I have been busy, beavering away at my projects. Mostly adding to my project pile instead of finishing things, but I see that as a good thing in the long run. It means I’ll have releases for years to come. However, it would be nice to complete some projects, too. So let’s get into the updates.
Hillside Academy
I have started a new addition to this little world. “Holly” is a forbidden romance. This started life in a smut group on Facebook with a request for a specific scenario, but there were very few recommendations offered. My little brain kicked into high gear and came up with the plot for “Holly”. I will try to get hold of the source material from the post (sadly, the post was deleted due to a misunderstanding of the context), so I can make a dedicated post explaining project “Holly”.
The main “Breathe” Series is still making progress. “Just Breathe” is about 70% drafted after I stripped it back and reworked it in the Summer. I also have “Inhale” and a good chunk of “Exhale” outlined. I just need my calendar to line up so I can power on with these projects.
Hellmouth
The Hellmouth world just keeps expanding, and I love it. I have recently added another family from a different, more national criminal syndicate. I had been struggling to find a logical way to interlink all of these syndicates and underground networks, but this latest development has helped pieced together parts of so many other stories. I’m so thankful for how all the gaps that this brainwave has filled and for all of the stories it has now strengthened.
In terms of projects and progress, I am still puzzling out the timeline. The first main arc happens in the “Rosethorns” Series, but there are stand-alones and bridging series that come before, overlap or lead into a future arc that I need to smooth out. Characters and story seeds will be peppered throughout all the books, and I want the storylines to interweave to create a richer overall story.
I have several outlines in the works, as well as a few drafts in the beginning stages. I’m the most excited for stories in this world.
Everything Else
Wait… there’s more? Why, yes! There’s so much more.
Beyond my contemporary romances, I am working on some Urban Fantasy and Romantacy projects. I’ll admit I’m not paying these projects much attention right now. I do have a notebook for each project, and I’m adding to them when I have a brainwave for the plot or if I get inspired for a scene idea. This way, I will be able to make progress faster when I come to draft them in the future.
So, there we have it. A brief overview of what I’ve been working on since my last update.
